How to care for your suede item ?
Suede is a premium, organic, and beautifully textured material, valued for its exceptional softness, matte finish, and timeless elegance. Because it features a delicate, sanded nap that makes it highly porous, regular dry care is essential to protect it from stains, maintain its velvet-like texture, and prevent it from flattening over time.
Cleaning & Brushing
- Dust and refresh your suede piece regularly using a specialized brass or natural crêpe brush, brushing gently in one direction to restore the nap. For light surface marks, use a clean suede eraser to gently lift away stains.
- A delicate rub with a specialized dry suede sponge is the secret to clearing away trapped dust and light grime, ensuring water never comes into contact with the fibers during routine cleaning.
Drying & Reshaping
- Always air dry suede naturally in a cool, shaded room. Keep it far away from artificial heat sources (radiators, hair dryers) and intense sunlight, which harden the delicate fibers and fade the rich color.
- Ironing is strictly prohibited. To remove creases, let the item hang in a dry room or use a professional garment steamer from a safe distance only to fluff up the nap. Stuff bags and shoes with clean tissue paper to restore their original shape.
